It may sound cliche, but 2023 went by in the blink of an eye. Looking back over the last year, we have so much to be thankful for as a company. Our incredible team was able to deliver high quality log & timber frame homes to each of our new clients while also strengthening our partnerships with countless industry professionals and past clients as well. These partnerships are the lifeblood of our company and we wouldn’t be where we are today without them.
Giving Back
Giving back to the community that has supported us over these past four decades is incredibly important to us. In 2023, we contributed to several community projects that we are particularly proud of. We provided materials and helped plant the Hancock Community Garden; a community project organized by the Hancock Education Foundation. We donated materials to Broome Tioga Boces that were used by students to build a Three Bears’ House for The Discovery Center in Binghamton, NY. One very special community event that we helped support was the Paint the Delaware Pink. This local event raises funds and awareness for breast cancer and Beaver Mountain donated rods and reels in the memory of one of our very own founders and breast cancer survivor, Anita Clark.
Working to Strengthen Our Local Communities
As a small business, we understand the importance that local businesses have on the economy and all the ways small businesses positively impact their communities. In 2023, we continued our support of local small businesses through our VP of Business Development, Drew Prochazka, who serves on the Board of Directors with the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce. Beaver Mountain even had the honor of hosting the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce After Hours event for a fun evening of cocktails, hor d’oeuvres, and factory tours.
Thanking Our Team
We are very fortunate to have a wonderful team of people here at Beaver Mountain and we like to say “Thank you” a few times each year with events outside the office. We were able to enjoy some rest and relaxation together this past summer for a company picnic at Mirabito Stadium and afterwards enjoyed a Rumble Ponies game together this summer. A Christmas party at the Copper Top Tavern in Vestal and our annual Employee Appreciation Day were also fun and we look forward to them each year!
Staying Up-To-Date with Building Trends & Codes
In addition to staying current with the latest state and federal codes, we’re constantly striving to expand our knowledge base of the systems built and housing industries, including new technology and construction options when it comes to home design and building so that we can continue to offer the best products on the market for our customers. This year, we attended the NAHB Building Systems Summit in Washington DC with the Log & Timber Homes Council and the NYS Builder Show at the Javits Center in Manhattan. We networked with other professionals and companies in the log & timber home industry (as well as offsite building companies) and had a great time! Our Operations Manager, Todd Parsons also attended the quarterly meetings of NYS Fire Prevention & Building Code Council, which gives us visibility to not only current code but also upcoming building code changes. We also networked locally with building associations and are honored to announce that we won an ACE award for construction excellence in the category of log homes from the Wayne Pike Building Association.
Looking ahead to 2024 we are excited for all the possibilities that a new year will bring for our family and business. Again, we are so grateful for the community of team members, clients, and professionals that we have the privilege of working with. Thank you for being a part of our community and trusting Beaver Mountain with the design of your custom crafted log and timber frame home projects. We hope 2024 is wonderful for us all!
