The Beaver Mountain Design & Build Process

Listening To Your Dreams

Building a custom luxury log or timber home is a serious investment, so the first step in our personalized building process is to schedule an in-person or Zoom Feasibility Conversation. Discuss questions you may have and review your lifestyle, ideas, plans, budget, and timeline with your Beaver Mountain Building Consultant.

Site Assessment & Design Process Begins

Join your Building Consultant for an on-site design consultation with your Beaver Mountain architectural designer. We’ll visit your property and learn what makes your home site unique. Topics of discussion will be how best to position your home, where the sun rises and sets, any existing excavation work, and which features you’d like to be included in your one-of-a-kind home design.

Conceptual Drawings & Turnkey Estimate Ranges

Your Beaver Mountain architectural design consultant will create custom-designed conceptual drawings, develop turnkey estimate ranges, and a building timeline for your unique log, timber, or hybrid home, or we will work with your architect.

Approve Home Design, Investment & Building Timeline

Your architectural designer and Building Consultant will present and explain your conceptual drawings and review your personalized options, turnkey estimate ranges and building schedule. After you approve your custom home design and material selections, we will finalize 1/4″ scale floor plans and elevations that can be used for builder bids, interior design planning, and financial options (if needed).

Analyze Bids & Select Your Contractor

Our team of experts will introduce you to contractors near your building site from our extensive network of professionals, or you may already have a preferred contractor in mind. Your building consultant will assist in soliciting bids and proposals for building your one-of-a-kind cutom wood home. We request and analyze proposals/bids to help in your contractor selection.

Ordering Your Home & Begin Site Work

When you order your Beaver Mountain home, our engineering team will develop building site specific, professional engineer stamped construction drawings with report that shows energy code compliance. At this point you are ready to apply for your building permit so the construction can begin at your site. In our shop, the wall logs and structural timbers are pre-cut & numbered and graded to our strict quality and aesthetic standards.

Crafting Your Pre-Framed Wall Panels

Beaver Mountain craftsmen take great pride in their work, and every pre-framed structural wall panel is built by hand with great attention to detail. This ensures that they go together easily and accurately on site, saving your contractor time.

Drystacking Your Log Walls

Log walls are dry stacked, then pre-sorted and inverse-stacked in order of use on custom made pallets and are wrapped to keep them dry and off the ground. Panels are handcrafted and stored along with the other materials for your home, under cover until delivery. Once you have selected the contractor you would like to work with, we’ll coordinate the manufacturing and delivery schedules with their team.

Delivery & Beginning of Construction

Your home will be delivered on time with split delivery dates and staggered delivery times available. The trucks are tarped for delivery and materials are kept dry and clean. At your site, your contractor will unload the wrapped materials, store them on the pallets to keep materials off the ground, and cover them with tarps.

Solid Log Wall Technical Support

Beaver Mountain’s experienced construction personnel provide Customer Services and on-site Log Home Technical Support (if needed) to assist with building questions and concerns. They’ll help coordinate materials and assist with the beginning stages of assembling the pre-cut & numbered wall logs.

Pre-Framed Insulated Wall Technical Support

If your home has pre-framed structural Panels, our experienced construction personnel will provide Customer Services and on-site Technical Support for the installation of the wall panels (if needed). These panels are installed prior to the timber frame structure and support the upper level and roof systems.

Timber Frame Floor & Roof Construction Technical Support

Our experienced construction personnel will provide Customer Services and on-site Technical Support (if needed) to assist with building questions and concerns. They’ll help coordinate materials and assist with the beginning stages of assembling Pre-cut & Labeled Timber Frame Floor and / or Roof Construction.

Weathertight Shell & Interior Finishes

Your contractor will work on getting up the watertight shell, then move onto the interior and exterior details. You will order your cabinetry, decide on the finishes you’d like (flooring, lighting, etc…). The subcontractors come in to do the plumbing and electrical as the interior walls are going up. Construction typically takes 8-12 months to complete an average 2,000 square foot home.

Dear Chris and Staff at Beaver Mountain, Just a note to let you know how much Wally and I love our Beaver Mountain Log Home. We did our homework, and after researching many other log home companies, we decided to go with Beaver Mountain. The quality of your product and the knowledge and support of the Beaver Mountain staff was very reassuring. The home went up smoothly and every log fit perfectly. We have the most beautiful home…way beyond our expectations. We would like to encourage anyone interested in building their dream home to consider the quality and substance of a Beaver Mountain Log Home.
