For John and Jackie Kozakis, family is everything. They love spending time with their three daughters, their son-in-law and two young grandchildren, entertaining friends, and they love being in nature. When they came to Beaver Mountain, we quickly learned that their vision for the future included a home that not only reflected their desire to be in nature, but also to share it with the ones they love.
They always loved log homes–the feel, the warmth and according to John, even the smell evokes a comforting feeling. The Kozakis’ were referred to Beaver Mountain by a friend. They had interviewed other log home companies and were underwhelmed by the process. “The vast majority of other companies we spoke to made us feel like it was transactional process. But the moment we sat down with Chris Weyer, the regional sales manager, we knew within five minutes we were dealing with a completely different type of company.” According to John, Chris asked questions about their vision for their future, which resonated with them, as he and Jackie own a wealth management business and do the same type of fact finding with their clients. “The size, feel, etc. of the design center was impressive, but secondary to the conversation with Chris, which felt special.”
“Camp Kosakis” is an 10”x 8” thick white pine solid log home with hand hewn timbers with a design that was custom designed and completed in August 2019. They designed the home with the future in mind. They chose a first-floor master suite and three bedrooms to accommodate friends and family. “We spent most of our time in the
living room and kitchen–we wanted that to be an open design–one big room,” Jackie said. The second story loft offers a more private space and a view of the honed wood rafters, and the beautiful stone fireplace.
The lower level was designed with a large bedroom they refer to as the “bunny hutch” for their growing family. It’s large enough to fit a queen-sized bed and 4 bunks! There is a full-size bathroom, and an entertainment area, bar, tv, seating, and tucked into the corner is a workout area. They have a two-car garage that can fit their cars and some of their ‘toys’ including their side-by-side.
Camp Kozakis was designed to welcome family, and it does that beautifully. Generations gather to celebrate birthdays, holidays and just enjoy each other’s company.
