Beaver Mountain Log Home Articles: A Quality Log Home Starts at the Mill Before one of our home kits is shipped to a building site, it is pre-assembled (dry-stacked) to ensure a proper fit and for quality assurance. (Option: Once the pre-assembled logs are dry-stacked, you can inspect them prior to delivery—a procedure unique to Beaver Mountain Log Homes.) During dry-stack, each log is lettered and numbered for ease of assembly by your builder. As these pre-stacked walls are disassembled, they are arranged on pallets in reverse order so the logs needed first are easily accessible. (Further, this allows your builder to keep the other bundles under cover until they are needed.) Attend one of our mill tours or log raisings to see the process for yourself...it's sure to impress! Then check our calendar to schedule your visit. How do our construction techniques "stack up?" See for yourself, with the diagrams in our Craftsman's Corner. |
