When Fred and Johnna bought property adjacent to their son and his wife, they wanted to see the grandchildren more. They planned to relocate from the west coast and renovate an old farmhouse sitting in a depression. Their builder looked at the home and at the couple with renovation ideas and said, "Look at this brochure. I know you won't be happy with a do over in a valley when you can have a log home on the bluff and see for miles." He had handed them a Beaver Mountain Log & Cedar Homes brochure and it was the key to their ultimate dream. Fred and Johnna had lived all over the world and even done some remodels but the chance to have everything just as they wanted proved too tempting to turn down. They chose the bluff and Beaver Mountain log cabin home. They started with the Cedar Ridge design and then asked for some custom touches. They opened the downstairs up even more and combined a library/dining area off the open kitchen. The Great Room has a view that goes for miles and the orchard in back is an ever changing wonder. Beaver Mountain and the builder helped them every step of the way. They had created a guest suite or a place where the kids could go to watch a movie. With a keen eye for style, Johnna added touches of folk art that fit the home and the area and wound up with a dream of a home. Fred makes honey with his son from his son's bee hives.
