Beaver Mountain Log Home Articles:

Builder-Friendly Means A Lot!
Often when we tell our prospective customers why they should trust their dream homes to Beaver Mountain, one of things we stress is our "builder-friendly" approach. And that really covers a lot of ground:

The package
A home package produced by Beaver Mountain goes beyond providing a "materials" package. From the precut, preassembled, lettered and numbered log and timber components in our log homes, to the panelized components in our cedar homes, we put the time and effort needed into making a Beaver Mountain home "builder-friendly."

Referral
We readily offer builder referrals for much of our geographic coverage area. However, many of our homes each year are built by builders who are not experienced with log or panelized home construction. So we design, engineer, and manufacture our homes with the builder in mind. We know that our product won’t be built—won’t even be sold—unless there is a good builder ready to work with our customer and with Beaver Mountain to help make that dream home become a reality.

The Promise
Beaver Mountain provides an itemized material list for our customers so that there are no misunderstandings about the materials that are covered by our customer’s purchase. Beaver Mountain then makes a promise (in writing) that these materials will be provided and in sufficient quantity to complete the portion(s) of your home the materials are purchased for. This is to clarify the materials which are Beaver Mountain’s responsibility, and for our customer’s protection. (See our "Promise" for details.) This is important to your builder also. It helps him determine what materials he will need to complete the home.

Technical assistance
After the materials arrive at the job site and construction begins, a Beaver Mountain field representative will come to the site to help your builder get the project off to a good start. Even when a builder whom we know and have worked with before is constructing the home, it is our policy to have our professional "Technical Assistant" there when the first row(s) of logs are positioned, or the panels are set. He explains and demonstrates the assembly procedures, reviews the construction drawings, and ensures that the home is started off "on the right foot." The T.A. also double checks on the fit and quality of the materials, provides helpful tips and helps maintain a line of communication between Beaver Mountain and your builder. Through the T.A., we get good feedback and tips from the builders, too, and this helps us to make future materials packages even more "builder-friendly."

Log home building demo
This special event allows you to see the actual log wall building technique demonstrated in our factory. Better yet, when your package is ready, we can arrange for you to see your own logs and how they fit together, before they leave our factory en route to your job site. (As you can imagine, this requires some coordination and flexibility between you and Beaver Mountain. So call us for details.)

How does this "builder-friendly" policy look and feel from the builder’s point of view?
"The quality is evident in the care and craftsmanship," observes Pete Hathaway of Catskill Construction. "The finest name-brand materials and components are specified and delivered. It’s always a pleasure doing business with the people at Beaver Mountain."

Pete, by the way, has built many homes for Beaver Mountain customers in New York and Pennsylvania.
