After purchasing property in New York’s Catskill Mountains, we explored many building options. Marni’s brother, whose son went to school in Hancock, referred us to Beaver Mountain Log & Cedar Homes. He had been impressed by the beautiful display of model homes on the hillside along Route 17. Our excavator also recommended Beaver Mountain.

We had a very specific vision of the goals that we wanted to achieve for our home: a house on one level where the two major rooms, the great room and the master bedroom, overlooked our wonderful view; a fabulous kitchen; and plenty of windows.

The first time we visited Beaver Mountain we met with Joan Decker. As we discussed our concepts, Joan immediately brought insight into our project. She quickly grasped our “vision” and enthusiastically worked with us to translate it into a beautifully designed country home that met all of our goals.

From its inception to completion the process of building our home was a fabulous experience. Joan and everyone at Beaver Mountain did a great job of designing our home and providing us with quality materials. Todd Stinson of Cedar Crest Builders did a great job building it.

Thank you to everyone who made our first ever Construction Site Tour a success! We had a wonderful turn out and Jim Cammer did an excellent job answering questions and explaining the building process!

We recently re-stained our Cedar Ridge Model with Perma-chink Lifeline Ultra-1 Pro and Lifeline Advanced topcoat. The process to apply the stain was easy and it looks great.

A sneak peek

We’re down in Maryland right now shooting a beautiful home and wanted to show you one of our favorites so far… Granted, we’ve only shot the kitchen/dining room and living rooms and there are so many wonderful rooms left to capture. One of the rooms we’re looking forward to most is a kids suite – so many fun ideas went into creating those rooms! Here it is SOOC (straight out of the camera!)

From the Homeowner…

Hi Joan! Talked to Joann this morning and she said you guys were anxious for more pictures so am attaching a couple. Our internet is slow so might have to send a couple at a time. We are so excited and sooooo happy. We love Max’s crew and are extremely impressed with how attentive they are to detail. We really feel like we have started with an excellent product and coupled that with an excellent crew to get the maximum outcome. Jim Valentine’s attention to detail and demand for exactness with that first course of logs has carried over into everything done since. I’m sure we might run into a small snag or two along the way but right now that doesn’t even seem possible and if it does happen it will be less stressful because of the all good that comes before.

I know I sound a little “over the top” but we can’t help ourselves! Thank you so much for all you’ve done for us and for giving us Max’s name. Will try and send photos every once in awhile – I’ll have to check the blog later and see if we are famous yet!!

Have a great day!
Penny

*Editor’s note: Thank you for sharing your pictures with us! We’re thrilled that Max and his crew are doing such a great job for you! Jimmy’s definitely a great guy – he’s been with us since the beginning. Keep us updated on your progress!
